Family On Mission

Families come in many forms. Some are created through marriage while others are made by people choosing to "be" family through other bonds. Regardless of how your family came together, we are excited to walk the journey with you of being on mission as God has called us all to be. Being a Family On Mission is simply "living as a family in this world while walking closely with Jesus and inviting others to join us in following Him." This may look like more people around your table at dinner time, getting involved in your community, praying together, serving people in need or all the above!

Ways To Serve

"For we are co-workers in God’s service" 1 Corinthians 3:9

We believe we are called to serve locally, internationally and anywhere in between in partnership with God so people are reached with His love! Our prayer is that whether you serve through one of these opportunities, or your family finds another outlet to serve, you would see God's mission, as your mission.

  • Weekly Food Distribution

The Neighborhood Pantry is open Wednesday evenings from 4:00-5:30PM at NCF in the back parking lot with the purpose of helping to supplement food needs & show God's love to approximately 50+ families from our local neighborhoods.

Opportunities to serve in this ministry are: food pick ups on Monday & Tuesday, weighing and organizing incoming food on Mondays & Tuesdays, & Wednesday set-up & food distribution from 3:00-6:00PM.  You can sign up to serve one time or on a rotational basis. For more info, contact our Pantry Team Leads, Lucy Cruz & Marisol Cruz at pantry@myncf.org.

  • Neighborhood Farm

The Neighborhood Farm is located at the back of our campus and is an all-seasons ministry. The vision and purpose of the Neighborhood Farm is to help supplement our Neighborhood Pantry with organic fresh fruits and vegetables as well as educate through experience how to have your own seed to table garden. Alongside Team Lead, Judi Gregory, you will serve as needed in all aspects of preparing the ground, planting, tending and harvesting crops. For more info, contact the church office at 626.915.6691.

  • Piecemakers Quilt Ministry

The Piecemakers Quilt Ministry was started in the early 1990's, and still continues today, through the production of simple patchwork quilts, machine sewn and tied with yarn. The Piecemakers purpose is to spread God's love and comfort to sick children, chemo patients & grieving new moms at two local hospitals through the gift of each handmade quilt.

Opportunities to serve in this ministry are: Wednesdays from 10:00 AM- 4:00PM to help sew or tie quilts.

Another way to help is through financial donations as well as any fabric and yarn donations (feel free clean out your stash!).

If you'd like to see the inner workings of this ministry, they welcome visits and tours of their room in the Fellowship Hall.  Contact Julie Swallow at Piecemakers@myncf.org with any questions.

  • Child Sponsorship

We are excited to partner with World Hope International in their mission to impact lives through helping children access education. Each "sponsorship not only covers costs like tuition, uniforms, books, but are also used to address other barriers children often face in pursuit of an education. That’s why, unique to the communities, sponsorship funds may also go to ensuring quality teaching, safe trips to and from schools, and best practices for hygiene and health."
